Handy GPS - Compass Screen

This screen shows a compass bezel which is oriented so that the red "N" points to magnetic north. The number at the top of the screen shows the current magnetic bearing of the phone.

Note that when you start using this page for the first time on any given day its a good idea to calibrate it to ensure accurate operation. The way to calibrate the magnetic sensors on an Android device is to move the device in a figure-8 pattern in the air and/or to rotate it on each of its axes on 3D space in turn.

An artificial bubble floats over the compass to help you hold your device horizontal for the most accurate readings. The "bubble" turns green when your device is level.
