Finchley Lookout is accessible from Wollombi along the Yengo Track. The lookout has a raised observation platform which gives excellent views of the surrounding country-side. A short drive along the road from the lookout brings you to a flat rock carved with numerous aboriginal pictures.
Burragurra is accessible only by four-wheel drive (or by walking). It is located along the Boree track, south of its junction with the Mt Simpson track.
This rock provides excellent views of Mt Yengo and Mt Wareng. The rock is covered with aboriginal rock carvings, including the spirit footprints of Wa-boo-ee (or Biame), the creator of heaven and earth. In aborignal legend, he stepped from here to Mt Yengo in one stride and then ascended back into the sky.
The profile of Mt Yengo, seen from Burragurra, is distinctive. The mountain's flat top is flanked by flat shoulders on either side. Mt Wareng presents a more rounded profile.
Further south on the Boree Track, Frying Pan rock also has a few interesting carvings and nice views. Access to this location is restricted to walkers, as vehicles are prohibited past the Boree/Bala Range junction.
