Light weight metho stove

This is my successful light weight metho stove design. It is acutally a Trangia brand pot, saucepan, pot handle, and burner. To these basic components, I've added a short tubular section of galvanised iron with air intake holes at the bottom and flame exit slots at the top. The Trangia burner sits on the ground inside this tube. All components fit inside the pot when the stove is not being used.

The performance of this design compares favourably with the original Trangia wind shield (in mild conditions) but cuts the weight in half. Since building this in 2002, its all I ever take on my overnight and multi-day trips.

UPDATE: A stainless steel version of this pot stand is now available to buy. Its called the MethLite.
